How to get your Alpaca paper API keys
1. Create a free account at alpaca.markets (no credit card needed for paper trading)
2. Go to Paper Trading in the left sidebar of your Alpaca dashboard
3. Click "Your API Keys" → Generate New Key
4. Copy both values — the Key ID (starts with PK…) and the Secret Key (shown once)
5. Paste them above and click "Test Connection" before saving
Paper keys are free and let you simulate trades with $100,000 in virtual cash. No real money is involved.
